The Johnson Family, 8 Days
"Our son, Ben (14 years old), was in the hospital for 10 days with Crohn's Disease. The Ronald McDonald House was so close that we could be at the hospital to help our son. When we had to cook his meals, the kitchen was stocked and always available. The staff was so friendly and helpful. It was a very comforting place for us. Thank you. "

"I couldn't believe my eyes, when I saw my son Kaden staring back at me on your website. Thank you. I had never seen that picture before. We couldn't thank you enough for what you enabled our family to be- together. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. "

   The Turner Family, 1 Month
"We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House East for one month while we waited for our first daughter, Tatum Turner, to recocver from surgery and start eating. She was born with gasteroschisis (her intestines were on the outside of her stomach.) We made a lot of friends at the house that made us realize that things could be a lot worse. Our hearts go out to the families who have lost their children. Thank you to all the employees and volunteers. You are really making a difference! Tatum is six months old now and learning fast."

"My family stayed at Ronald McDonald house in Portland Oregon while our preemie son Justin was at OHSU for two and a half weeks. Without the Ronald McDonald House, we would have had to stay in the hospital waiting room. This is a place where people really care and are very supportive. When we left, I felt sad and happy because I felt like we were leaving our home and happy because we were taking little Justin with us. We are from LaGrande Oregon and our son was life flighted to OHSU March 2nd 2006. He is now a wild almost 2 year old. I think about the people we left behind there and wonder how everything turned out for them. I think about the wonderful people who give so much there. I am a supporter of Ronald McDonald Houses 110%!! Good Luck to those who find comfort in these wonderful, caring places and remember, you are never alone."

"I was so thankful that my husband and I were able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House East, when our son Frankie only 4 days old at the time, had to under go open heart surgery. Staying at the house made it so easy to be closer to my son when he needed me the most. The staff make you feel at home, are always there if you have questions, are very supportive, and loving. Without the Ronald McDonald House I would not have been able to stay near my son. Thank you Ronald McDonald House!!"
Jaylene Gookin - Salem, Oregon
"The Ronald McDonald house was a wonderful place to stay while our daughter Jasmine was in the hospital across the street. We met lots of wonderful people from all over the United States. If we had to, I would love to stay there again. It was a very friendly environment."
Stephanie Cuchiara
"My daughter and I stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in May while she had some testing done, She loved it there and she can't wait to go back. It sure does make it a lot easier to see the doctor when she has something to look forward to!"

"A big THANK YOU for helping to make sure we have a place to call home while our daughter, Becca, is in the hospital. Even though each day brought new challenges, we remained strong and positive through the love and support of our 'extended family' at the Ronald McDonald House."
Sharon Freeman - North Pole, Alaska

The Myrick Family, 9 Days
"Upon our arrival at Ronald McDonald House we were greeted with open arms by the staff and guests alike. In our first week, we have gained many friendships and spent many nights laughing, talking, or crying together. It's a comfort to be around families who have the same understanding of having an ill or injured child. The best thing about staying at Ronald McDonald House is instantly belonging to a compassionate, loving family from the time you walk into the house until forever."
Marques and Nakisha Myrick - Elmendorf Airforce Base, Alaska

The Gray Family, 19 Days
"I stayed at the East House in the summer of 2005 while my son recovered at Legacy Emanuel from the extensive injuries received after being run over by a car. Words could never express how much your facility helped me during that dark time. Not just the meeting of daily needs like comfortable shelter, laundry facilities and food, but the kind of support staff who really understood what I was going through and the camaraderie of other parents who were experiencing the same thing or worse. I don't know what I would have done without you and can never thank you enough for being there when everything else seemed so awful and desperate. It has been 2 years since Jake was released from the hospital and he has had a full recovery. This is his senior picture taken 2 months after his halo brace was removed in October 2005. He graduated from high school in June 2006 and is living a full and productive life. I purchased a brick for the House when I left that says it all for me, "may hope enter your heart when you enter here."
