Outreach Program

Ronald McDonald House Charities, with support from RMHC Global, offers grants to charitable organizations that provide free immunizations and dental care to children in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Since 2002, RMHC’s outreach program has served approximately 69,000 children and distributed more than $595,000 in grant money for this purpose.

In 2007, grants totaling $160,000 ($80,000 in local funds and $80,000 in matching support from RMHC Global) were awarded to nine programs that served approximately 24,000 children.

Outreach funding is provided through a portion of canister donations made by customers of McDonald's restaurants in our region and in the form of matching grants from RMHC Global.

Grant Application Guidelines

RMHC accepts proposals from organizations that provide immunizations and/or dental services for children in Oregon and SW Washington. To be considered for funding, organizations must be located in Oregon (with the exception of Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Jefferson, Harney, Klamath and Lake counties, which are served by RMHC of Central Oregon in Bend) or in the SW Washington counties of Clark, Pacific, Cowlitz, and Skamania.

To qualify, your organization must demonstrate:
  • Charitable 501(c)3 tax exempt status
  • A specific project or program that directly benefits children’s (birth to 21 years) healthcare through immunization or dental treatment
  • Clear project goals and objectives
  • A broad base of funding support
  • The ability to respond to the needs of specific groups of children in a manner that yields measurable results

RMHC does not fund:

  • Advertising or fundraising drives
