Wicked cast does good for Ronald McDonald House families
Cast members from the musical Wicked made a special appearance in March at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in honor of families staying at the Ronald McDonald House® and their seriously ill children being treated at the hospital.

Approximately 15-20 cast members met with families, helped children with craft projects making magic wands and theater masks, and performed songs.Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital worked to convert the atrium into a magical, one-of-kind place for the cast and families to be together, and will be supported the visit with craft supplies and food.

“It was so generous of the cast to take time out of their busy performance schedule to meet the Ronald McDonald House families being treated at Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital,” stated RMHC’s Executive Director Tom Soma. “Just like the cast members, these families are far from home and loved ones, so we anticipate seeing a lot of smiles while they are here.”

“We really look forward to contributing to the community where we are temporarily living,” explained cast member Merideth Kaye Clark. “We live our lives on the road and sometimes it doesn’t feel like we have a community because we travel from city to city. We did something similar with Ronald McDonald House families in Louisville, KY and it was a great experience to meet parents, siblings and some of the sick children. Here in Portland, we hope that we can make someone’s day a little brighter.”
