Members of the Tanner Society took part in an exclusive wine tasting at Ken Wright Cellars in Carlton on Saturday as a way to thank them for their generous support of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The Tanner Society recognizes donors who have contributed unrestricted gifts of $2,500 or more to RMHC in the last year. Vintner Ken Wright hosted the event and gave a behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process. He was joined by fellow winemakers Ted Casteel of Bethel Heights Vineyard and Steve Doerner of Cristom Vineyards. The three took the audience through a series of tastings from Solena Cellars, Bethel Heights, Ken Wright Cellars, Cristom, and Penner-Ash Wine Cellars, to explore the question - is it the hand or the land that makes great wine? The tasting was followed by a delicious dinner provided by Farm to Fork cafe and market in Dundee.
